The Names We Carry

These are people who lived in pain, did everything right, and were failed by a system that treated them as a problem instead of patients. We say their names so the harm is not erased.

Jay Lawrence

A Navy veteran who was stable for years on the medicine that let him function, until a misapplied guideline force-tapered it away. He is one of the first names this movement carried.

Danny & Gretchen Elliott

Danny survived a 15-minute electrocution and more than thirty years of severe pain. When the crackdown shut down his doctors one by one, he and his wife Gretchen were lost within a week of losing his last doctor - not from the medicine, but from having it torn away.

Desiree Grand-Gassaway

Denied the care she needed, she was lost to a counterfeit pill at just 35 - one more life taken by a system that abandons the people it is supposed to help.

These are the ones whose stories we know. There are thousands more whose names were never counted. We carry them too.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 anytime. You are not alone, and you are not a burden.
